Is a home inspection required?

Lenders often will require home inspections, but it is not always required. This can vary depending on loan type. If it is not required, it is still highly recommended before purchasing a home to check for any potential issues or damages before purchasing a home.

Who pays for a home inspection?

The buyer typically pays for a home inspection, but the seller may cover the cost occasionally. It’s best to talk to a real estate agent to determine the terms of your home’s inspection.

What is checked for in a home inspection?

Premier Home Inspections follows a thorough inspection checklist that includes inspection of foundation, HVAC system, appliances, plumbing, electrical, roofing, windows and doors, attics and basements, and all structural components of the home. We carefully inspect all exterior and interior aspects of your home, then provide a written report of our findings.

What is PHI’s service area?

Premier Home Inspections offers commercial and residential inspections in Joplin, MO; Webb City, MO; Carthage, MO; Neosho, MO; Pittsburg, KS; and all surrounding areas.

What fixes are mandatory after a home inspection?

You are not required to fix every recommendation made during the inspection. However, some fixes will be required for lenders to release funds for the purchase of the home. These include safety issues and building code violations. Cosmetic issues and normal wear and tear are not necessary to fix. Your real estate agent can help you determine which repairs are necessary.
